Las Vistas Beach
Las Vistas is the most well-known beach of Arona because of its waters quality; it's been awarded the blue flag by the Foundation for Environmental Education in Europe (FEEE) all over the years. It's 862,87 meters long and has an atractive promenade where you can simply walk, use it as a bike trail or go shopping and relax after in one of the several cafés, bars and restaurants put aside. That's why thousands of international travellers and first-time vacationers come and go each year.

Arona's town council and SINPROMI (a society for the Disability) have reached an agreement to provide Las Vistas beach with an appropiate infrastructure that guarantees the beach access to the handicapped:
1º Beachfront nearby Parking lot, with reserved parking spots.
2º Road signs and signposting to lead you to the accessible beach.
3º Accessible routes
The city center and the beach are connected in an accessible way. Streets as well as the promenade are architectural barrier-free enviroments. Los Cristianos is linked up to Las Américas through the longest and barrier-free promenade all over Europe.
4º Entrance ramps
Beach entrance ramps have two-sided handrails at two different heights. Ramps slope: 6 %
5º Wooden fixed pathways
There are wooden pathways (2,41 m. wide) that let two wheelchairs stand side by side.
6º Wooden roll-up pathways
Some of these pathways can be easily rolled up so they make easier for beachgoers with physical disabilities reaching the seashore.
7º Rest areas with sunshades
You can enjoy a wooden accessible spot of 100 m2 to sunbathe yourself.
8º Shower Facilities
Showers with fold-up shower seats available.
9º Toiletes and the EURO Key
Toilets, locker rooms and shower facilities are adapted to people with any kind of disability. You can find 3 full accessible toilets in Las Vistas (one of them located in the Tourist Office) which are 24 hours a day, 365 days a year available only using the EURO Key created by PRO INFIRMIS.
The EK concept came up in Germany (1986) for the users' and facilities' protection and preventing from misusing and endangering. It's been introduced in Spain and now in Tenerife as well. A total of 6,700 facilities including lifts, WCs, toilets,locker rooms can be used with the EURO Key only. The Key is exclusively issued to disabled or mobility impaired users.

The Red Cross in collaboration with lifeguards and volunteers keeps people safe provide them with assistance.
11º Amphibious Wheelchairs
The Red Cross carries out an outstanding job through its amphibious wheelchairs, adapted floating wheelchairs which make possible for the handicapped to reach the sea with dignity and safety. Lifeguards keep security measures to take them out from water once they are done or in case of emergency.

12º Amphibian Crutches & Wheelchairs Reservation
The Spanish Red Cross in Las Vistas has 4 floating wheelchairs, several sets of amphibian crutches and 6 life jackets. Residents and tourists can book these free of charge.
